Sometimes she’d say a word or two to me at an event.
Though I thought she was incredibly beautiful, I never
developed those lovely words into a conversation.
Though I would have liked to have been with her, I never
made any romantic advances.
Sometimes I think it would have been my happiest day
to have even held her hand or have even kissed her once.
But I’ll die never having known what it would have been like.
She was married with two children and forbidden.

On the outside a harmless man.
On the inside a dangerous predator.
He worked as a traveling salesman
during the day.
At night, he prowled the bars looking for
unwary female prey.
Women he picked up, seduced by his
charm, never saw the sun rise.
And none of them ever got away.
His infamy immeasurable, his cunning
hypnotic, he trapped his prey with
his handsome face and charming words.
He evaded police with his luck and
meticulous stealth.
He died at age 86, never having been
a suspect, never having been caught
and presumed to have been harmless
for all of his bloodthirsty, long life.

If they disagree with you,
they’ll want you dead.
Completely lost souls,
they’re full of hate.
They’ll cheer and laugh
if you are shot to death.
They’re fucked up
in the head.
Fuck you Diabolicals.
One day you and
your ghoulish hate
will be dead as well.

Bob Boyd

Birds on wing,
what an amazing thing.
How I wish I could fly like them,
even in skybound dreams.
Imagine effortlessly winging in
the sky above and gliding
on the wind currents.
Imagine the beautiful views
from up in the cloudy heavens.
Imaging the feelings as you
soared in the skies and as
you gently landed back
down on earth.

Bob Boyd

Raccoons broke into a house
bridged the cat flap in the front door.
Swiped the pet food, ate the snacks.
Frockled on the chairs, lounged in the couches.
Messed with the computers, watched some TV,
ripped books apart, tore up some magazines.
Sneaky, masked critters will probably get off scot free
for their bold and flagrant B & E.

Bob Boyd

Hundreds of thousands marching in the
streets of London, patriots, all of them.
Young people, middle age people, children
and old people, patriots, all of them.
Flags flying. Drums pounding. Trumpets blowing
People singing, chanting, save our country songs and chants.
A swelling fervor of emotion, patriotism, and love of country.
Prayers, hopes, pleas, demands to save their country.
Instead of God save the king – It’s God save our country.

The night was dark. The moon was full.
Howls filled the forest. Campers in tents shuddered.
Some packed up their tents and raced away.
Others made of stronger stuff with guns stayed.
The howls grew nearer. Campers’ fears increased.
Those of stronger stuff braced themselves and
shouldered their guns.
When the dozen or more werewolves appeared
and gunshots lit up the full moon night,
the spray of bullets only bounced off the beasts.
The slaughtered campers made of stronger stuff
lay in pieces on the blood drenched ground.

He was raised by a good family.
And he had been a good kid
until he became radicalized
by a twisted brainwashing
from the legacy media and
the college he attended.
He joined a radical group
that promoted violence and
disruption of those whose
views they had been led to
see as Nazis and fascists.
They blindly held to those
false and harmful beliefs,
demonizing those whose
beliefs they disagreed with.
The once good kid raised
by a good and loving family
is now in jail for life for
murdering an innocent man
whose views he killed him for.

Jeremy liked to camp out at night.
Never had any encounters with
wild beasts, even on spooky
nights when sounds were scary.
Until the night he heard an owl,
and they quietly came for him.
Stunned by unknown means
into a complete submission,
not believing what was happening
to him that otherworldly night,
he woke up semiconscious and
standing in a tube on a giant
alien space ship with aliens
extracting bodily fluids from him
until he eventually died in that
stand up experimental device.
And no one on earth ever knew
what had happened to him.

I’ve often wondered why
We have to have psychopaths
In this ever turning world
Where most people
Are not as emotionless
Are not as harmful

Some psychopaths
Are devoid of feeling
Some psychopaths
are inclined to kill

There are so
Many of them
When one dies
Another rises up
Like undead
vampires reborn

Why
Why
Why
Do we have
to have
and suffer
THEM?

My sadhu betta fish is hiding in his underwater cave.
I know he’s contemplating the cosmos.
I see some OM bubbles rising to the surface.
I wonder if he’s attained enlightenment yet
Or if he’s discovered the secrets of the universe.
When he emerges from his cave, he looks so serene.
His underwater contemplations seem to be leading
To increasingly higher states of consciousness.
Amazed, I wonder if one day he’ll be my guru
And telepathically share his wisdom and enlighten me.

Bob Boyd

So easily led
So easily persuaded
It doesn’t matter
How intelligent they are
Many are still so easily led
They lose their empathy
They cheer when
Innocent others are killed
They become monsters
So easily led

Some believe dark forces run wild in the world,
that we are constantly and subtly influenced by them,
that many are at their mercy and need to be
on guard with fervent prayers and religion.
I don’t believe the diabolical and dark forces are
at the helm of all the evil in this world.
I believe genetic, psychological, and social factors
are at the core of all the crimes and criminals.
But if you choose to believe in the dark forces and
the diabolical, you may just make them real in your mind
and suffer unrelenting worries and needless fears.

Bob Boyd

One a doctor. One a lawyer. One a criminal.
What went wrong with the one that went bad?
Were the seeds for going wrong in all of them,
but two were more resistant to the temptations?
Was the one that went bad the weaker strain?
Or was there a slight deviation in the bad one’s genes
that irresistibly compelled him to crime?
Or is it an ingrained mental health problem?
It’s a curious matter when in a good family two go right
and one goes wrong.

Brought up lower class
A family that barely got by
She lacked the advantages
The material goods,
The private schools,
The privileges
The importance
Of the higher classes
Upon graduating from
High School with average grades
She went to work in a can factory
Married and bore three children
Had an ups and down life
But it was a good life
Harming no one
Doing her best
Trying to always be kind
Having higher morals than most
Maintaining a loving marriage
Raising children lovingly

I say in the greater scheme of things
Her life was just as significant as yours
Whether you are richer than her
Or deemed more important
Or have attained worldly prominence.
More so because as with her
In the passage of time
Hundreds thousands of years and more
You will be of no more significance than her.

Bob Boyd

I’m not a believer in demons.
But I believe a collective imagination
could conjure up fake dreams;
as in people believing in them
despite their nonexistence;
as in people feeling affected by them;
as in people believing demons were
nearly everywhere waiting to harass them
or lead them down dark paths.
I think the mind could be like a powerful tool
where one’s dark imaginings could be
turned inward against one.
Thus, I choose not to believe in demons
or entertain any thoughts about them.

Bob Boyd

For some people love seems everlasting,
lasting all their lives, and maybe forever.
For others love comes in and goes, sweet
and seeming forever at first, but bitter and
fleeting, like a cold and frigid winter season.
Maybe some are incapable of lasting love,
or maybe they are fated to never have it.

Bob Boyd

Some people go off too easily
a minor car accident and they
become needlessly enraged.
Other people stay mellow; it’s
just an accident after all.
It’s as if they have a mellow
barometer inside their heads
that keeps them calm no
matter what happens to them.
I don’t think that mellowness
is something you can cultivate
I think some are born with it.
