Friends and Icons Dead

Old friends have died.
Icons have died too.
Why is it I am still here?
Added years not a plus.
Body and mind aging more.
The risk of increasing woes.
Mobility lessened or lost.
Mind ruined with dementia.
Shut away in an institution.
No longer a life to enjoy.
Death spare me that fate.
Let me join my old friends.
