She was 16-years-old and in one of my
high school classes
though I didn’t know her well, she was
always sweet and nice to everyone
I remember the day I overheard
a kid who played high school football
telling another kid how he had
had her too, meaning sex with her
what enraged me about this was
these two maybe more were
passing her around like a used plaything
with no respect or feelings for her
what was crudely called pump and dump
but, man, she was too sweet and nice
to be used and treated like a sex object
and passed around
and I always hated guys who bragged
about girls they used to others
in my code of teenage living, to treat a girl
like that was close to criminal.
