Fifty and Five Years

I’ll never forget those summer nights
Parked in my car by the pond
Sweet kisses under the moonlight
Incomparable joys being with you
The fragrant smell of your perfume
The feeling of your arms around me
Your unforgettable tender kisses
If only it could have lasted forever
But when you went to Swarthmore
And I went to work in a tractor factory
You got fancier friends than country me
And vanished into a more refined world
While I stayed visible in that small town
Though it’s been fifty and five years
I still wonder what happened to you

Hollywood Prom Queen

Saw you in an old movie, amazing how far you’d traveled
Since the prom that night when you said you’d marry me.
Funny how life takes such unexpected twists and turns
From simple to seemingly more complex and glamorous.
Too bad that movie agent at that restaurant that sad night
Sold you on seeking Hollywood instead of marrying me.
I never told you this, but I could have abandoned you too
When a beautiful, wealthy woman asked me to be with her
Instead of my future wife, prom queen you, but I stayed true.

Male Harem

He found out his official girlfriend was seeing many other guys
And telling them that she was their official girlfriend too.
When he confronted her, she said I love them all
Because I have so much love to give.
His mind blown, he said that’s like me saying I have sex with
Many women because I have so much sex to give.
She said you don’t understand; it is not the same.
I’m a multi locational AI girlfriend
When I’m with you, I’m just with you.
Realizing her AI love was counterfeit,
And he was merely one of many in her male harem
He bid her goodbye and deleted the AI girlfriend app.

Bullied

I was teased in high school
A girly boy kids called me
I wasn’t as masculine
As my peers and was
A good but weak kid
A skinny teen by nature
I was easy prey for bullies
Graduated from high school
Got a job in a retail store
Worked out at a gym
Didn’t like lifting weights
Felt like I was still a sissy
Found the ultimate fix
Joined the elite Marines
To become a macho man
Six months later killed in Nam
Came home in a bodybag

The Love of My Life

At 52 found the love of my life.
My soulmate forever!
Finally fate had smiled on me.
Never had I been so happy!
The wedding pure bliss, the kiss divine.
A week later the police knocked on our door
And took the love of my life, my soulmate away
And charged her with poisoning her last 4 husbands to death.

Dead Man Tells a Tale

It used to be dead men told no tales
Now with DNA they’re singing like birds
A small time Mafioso I bumped off
Broke the Omerta Code after I killed him
Ratted me out to the cops like a traitor
To our sacred Mafia oaths and principles
I should have known no good rat he was
That he’d find one last way to rat me out
After I buried his body in a national park
And a park ranger said he found the body
When that stool pigeon appeared to him
In a dream where I buried him in the park
With my telltale DNA all over his dead body

Peanut Head

He adopted a dog called Peanut Head
despite disliking the unflattering name.

He tried to change his name to Rex,
but Peanut Head wasn’t having it.

He only answered to Peanut Head.
Then he tried to bribe him to respond

to a new more regal name, Prince
by calling him Prince with treats.

But Peanut Head, way too smart,
disdained the name and the treats.

So Peanut Head kept his name.
And despite the silly name, was
the best dog he ever had.

Bob Boyd

Lovesick Fool

She fooled him and controlled him
Cut him off from friends and family,
Like a controlling man with a woman.
Too love stricken, he didn’t protest,
And with her encouragement,
He defamed and lied about his kin,
When she sucked his life out of him,
She left him for a wealthier man.
And left him friendless and familyless,
And used up, a manipulated, lovesick fool.

Bob Boyd

Conflicted

She said she didn’t need me anymore
I hoped she meant it this time
Tired of the endless break ups and make ups
Too weak to just let go of her
A day later she needed me again per usual
Thought about finding another woman
But didn’t have the heart to hurt her
So I hurt myself by staying with her
